Jacob Berry amazes me. The 28-year-old preacher from Oklahoma considers a rare form of muscular dystrophy a gift from God. He has lived with this condition his entire life. He maintains an incredible attitude, displays a charming sense of humor and is armed with a quick wit despite being confined to a wheelchair and dependent on a breathing machine.
“The words on the back of the Bible said ‘God has a promise’ and His promise is that anyone who seeks Him will find Him. At that moment, I knew in my heart that this was true; that if I seek Him I will know all the answers as to why I’m looking get money or to get high or get drugs, the next woman or whatever it was. I realized that the whole time I was just looking for a way to get back to God.”
The stories are startling, yet repeat themselves often: A lonely young girl begins chatting with a cute boy online. A beautiful young woman is enticed by an advertisement to model.A child is removed from a horribly abusive home environment and placed with a foster family
The man with the beautiful voice, Pastor Eric Kelly of The Family Church, continues the series of Honoring God with our Bodies.
An animated movie is first to be nominated for best short film at the eight annual Catholic Film Festival, Mirabile Dictu.
