Azusa Pacific University (APU) Nursing students from the High Desert Regional Campus partnered with the Salvation Army to host the fourth annual Socks, Shoes and Salvation Homeless Foot Washing Event in Victorville, CA.
It was a great job. It paid a whopping $2 per hour--minimum wage. We reported to the county prison camp every morning, sharpened our nails, filled up the ice chest, and jumped on the red prison bus with bars on the windows. People stared at us as we rode around town, wondering what we did to deserve this.
Most churchgoers will put up with a change in music style or a different preacher. But don’t mess with a church’s beliefs or there may be an exodus.
